Kathryn Weller for Councilor At-Large
Kathryn Weller is Montclair through and through. Born at Mountainside Hospital, she went through the Montclair schools, graduated Montclair High School, headed to Hampshire College, then returned to her roots. Like so many of our esteemed residents, Kathryn is an artist, active volunteer, and energetic community leader.

A stained glass artist whose windows can be found in houses around town, Kathryn is committed to effective leadership in Montclair’s government. To her this means knowing the people in town and drawing on their many talents to solve problems. By making progress together, we invest in Montclair and make it an even better community for future generations.

Kathryn has volunteered with PAWS, Paterson Habitat for Humanity, the Community Food Bank of Hillside, and as a CASA advocate. She currently serves as the Voter Registration Coordinator for HeadCount, a non-profit dedicated to registering and informing voters as part of the live music scene. A member of the Executive Board of the Montclair Democratic County Committee, Kathryn is the Recording Secretary, and a long-time District Leader.
Kathryn and Vincent Demming, who met while attending Nishuane, are proud to have recently purchased their first home in Montclair, and excited to be expecting their first child in June.

Kathryn believes that Montclair is a vibrant community that can regain its reputation as a progressive model. “I love this town” says Kathryn. “Now is a pivotal moment for Montclair. If we continue on our current path, Montclair will be unaffordable to homeowners and tenants alike. What’s more, the cultural, professional, and social diversity that we cherish, that enriches not just our schools, but our township as a whole, will be lost.”

She is proud to be on the UNITY MONTCLAIR slate. Please vote Tuesday, May 13th.
